From September 8 to 13, 2024, the Pontifical Slovenian Institution Slovenik hosted professors and students of the Theological Faculty of the University of Ljubljana at the so-called i. summer school, which took place within the project Theology, digital culture and human challenges.
The program of the so-called “Summer School of Theology” is enriched with lectures by established domestic and foreign professors. With topics on theology, digital culture, transhumanism, they touch on the most current problems and issues of today.
With guided tours of important historical places such as Assisi, Rome, Orvieto and Subbiaco, they are confronted with how Christians in each historical period knew how to deal with the pressing questions of their time.
Group gatherings, singing and prayer connect 42 students and professors. The program also includes a walking pilgrimage through the seven main Roman churches and a creative workshop on perspective telling of Roman stories, where audio-visual products are created with the help of digital tools.
In the Papal Slovene Institute Slovenik, the Slovenian home in Rome, where educational days are held, they were visited by M.Sc. Franci But, ambassador of the RS to the Holy See and Matjaž Longar, ambassador of the RS to Italy, Malta, Tunisia and San Marino. The first emphasized the importance of dialogue and unification between cultures and religions, and the second how Slovenia is present in Italy in the economic, cultural and political fields and showed the possibility of cooperation between the two neighboring nations.
