The Pontifical Slovenian College in Rome (Slovenik) admits as students only those priests who, in accordance with the will of their Ordinaries, are sent to Rome by their respective Bishops to pursue higher studies in the ecclesiastical sciences or to devote themselves to academic research in these fields. The College admits priests of the Slovenian dioceses as well as priests of Slovenian origin and language, even if born and resident outside Slovenia. Priests of other nationalities may be admitted only with the consent of the Bishop Delegate of the Slovenian Bishops’ Conference.

Applications for admission to the College must be submitted in good time so that they reach the Rector no later than the end of June each year. Having examined the applications and the accompanying documents, the Rector of the College informs the respective Ordinaries of the decision on the admission of the candidates.
